Scuderia Corsa Celebrates 100Th Team Win During Ferrari Challenge Weekend In Montreal

June 11, 2018

-12 Victories, 10 Podiums Highlight Ferrari Challenge Weekend

-100th Victory for Team during F1 Canadian GP

Amid one of the largest attended motorsports events in the world, Scuderia Corsa would celebrate another landmark weekend, winning their 100th race, in the backdrop of this weekend’s Formula One Canadian Grand Prix. Taking part in the annual Ferrari Challenge double-header, the team would once again enjoy a dominant event in which they scored 12 victories and 10 podiums.

With Scuderia Corsa taking part in their first professional motorsport event in 2012, the six-year history of the team has enjoyed rapid success, with victories like the 24 Hours of Le Mans and 12 Hours of Sebring highlighting only two of their many wins, now totaling over 100 wins. On a historic weekend that also included the announcement of new partner, NetJets, and in front of an enthusiastic and massive crowd, an exciting weekend of racing in conjunction with Formula One was in store.

In the top-tiered Trofeo Pirelli class, Cooper MacNeil would take double-victories in his return to Canada, matched by Thomas Tippl in Coppa Shell, who would also enjoy a victory sweep. Not to be outdone, Jim Camp would also see the top-step of the podium for his first podium and victory. Also enjoying podium success, Mark Fuller would enjoy double podiums, joined by Michael Fassbender during Sunday’s race. Similarly, a graduate of Scuderia Corsa’s driver development program, Neil Langberg would take his first podium in Coppa Shell Am. The team also scored 6 Coppa Team Awards, for their strong winning presence this weekend. Overall, a strong drive was also shown by Angie King, Brad Smith, Chris Carel and Oscar Arroyo-Paredes.

For team owner, Giacomo Mattioli, the landmark 100th victory adds to a growing year of competition.

“To achieve 100 victories within our team since 2012 is incredible,” stated Mattioli. “I cannot give enough credit to everyone in the team over our history for helping us achieve this. In a year that has included participation in the Indianapolis 500, further growth in our Ferrari Challenge and GT programs, a 100th win is a great milestone. Our focus is to continue improving performances; Scuderia Corsa will not rest with its current laurels.”

While the next round of Ferrari Challenge competition will not resume until July 27 – 29 at the scenic Watkins Glen, Scuderia Corsa will arrive at the famed New York circuit for the next round of IMSA Sports Car Competition with the “Six Hours of the Glen,” a race previously won by the team, taking place June 28 – July 1, 2018.
